Phlox paniculata Jeana
Phlox paniculata Jeana
Perennial Plant Association 2024 Plant of the Year.
A standout garden phlox variety celebrated for its exceptional resistance to powdery mildew and its profusion of small, lavender-pink flowers that bloom over an extended period from mid-summer into fall. The tight, upright flower clusters attract a remarkable number of butterflies—especially swallowtails—and also draw bees and hummingbirds, making it a pollinator powerhouse.
Unlike many other phlox varieties, ‘Jeana’ features smaller individual flowers held in dense, elegant panicles atop tall, slender stems that reach 5 to 6 feet in height, with a spread of about 2 to 3 feet. It thrives in full sun and rich, moist, well-drained soil. Its upright form, vigorous growth, and long-lasting colour make it ideal for the back of borders, pollinator gardens, or naturalistic plantings.
