Aconitum carmichaelii Arendsii
Aconitum carmichaelii Arendsii
A stately and striking perennial known for its tall spires of deep violet-blue, hooded flowers. Blooming in early to late fall, it brings rich colour to the garden when many other perennials are fading. The sturdy, upright stems can reach 3 to 5 feet tall and rarely need staking, while the deeply lobed, glossy green foliage adds texture and elegance to borders and woodland plantings.
Prefers moist, well-drained soil in partial shade but will tolerate full sun in cooler climates. It's deer-resistant and long-lasting as a cut flower. Caution: All parts of the plant are toxic if ingested and should be handled with care, making it best suited for gardens without young children or pets. A beautiful and dramatic addition to late-season plantings.
